Sorry I don't follow. SF:TNG is 32-bit compatible because it works on the Iyonix. What is the ARMini - 64bit? SF:TNG needs the SharedSound module which is available on the Iyonix but not on beagleboard etc as far as I'm aware. I think there are licensing issues preventing it being included. This is true. I think Dave Holden ended up with a nightmare time with the SharedSound situation, it seemed bonkers to me. |

Martin, can you shed a little light on this? [...] with different coders AFAIK. Hmmm. Leo/Nathan? The original coders were of course the same, but Chris Bazley has been modifying the Acorn version whereas TNG was completely converted from 3D0 code by Lee Noar. The code is completely different.
TNG was destined for the Omega so I believe (it is a long time ago) that it should be 32-bit. |

Well, anyone who has an Iyonix, a Beagleboard and SF: TNG can test it by loading the SharedSound module from the Iyonix on the Beagleboard and testing it.
It won't help those who don't have an Iyonix though, unless the licensing issue gets sorted. |

Yes, the version of SharedSound that came with the Iyonix works fine, at least in my experience. |

Looks like I'll have to test SF:TNG on the beagleboard later on
Doh! Have to wait for someone cleverer than me to compile it into a module...

Doh! Have to wait for someone cleverer than me to compile it into a module... You could manage that yourself (if you have the Norcroft compiler, of course). |

(if you have the Norcroft compiler, of course). That I do not. My programming days began and ended with BBC Basic! I went to uni to study computer science and C++ (and the worlds worst lecturer) managed to suck any enjoyment I got from programming out of me |

As a tenuous link to stars and BeagleBoards, how about 36km up in the sky? |
