Is it possible to make a game run in a window rather than taking over the whole screen?

If you are developing the game yourself, then yes - you can design it to run in a window if you wish; that's entirely up to you and your programming abilities.

If you are talking about getting other, pre-existing games to work in a window, then that's another matter.

If they are entirely single tasking (not even registering as a WIMP task) then you might be able to coax the occasional one into running with Druck's GraphTask (essentially by running the single tasking program in a graphical taskwindow). However, I doubt if that will work in all cases - I wouldn't even like to say it would work in most cases. It'll probably depend what screen settings/modes the games use, and what ones are supported by GraphTask.

Thanks for the reply, pre-existing games I was after. I'll give GraphTask a go and see what happens! Cheers.

Some early games could be made to run in a window by using the emulator A310emu.

Cheers I'll try that too. Incase anyone is wondering why, I recently bought a VGA2USB capture device. It can capture native RiscPC resolutions fine, but if you run something that isn't windowed or has a resoltuion setting the capture goes all funny.

If I try it on my A3010 it works fine but it doesn't quite have the horsepower to run the game and output in a vga mode. So I get sound sync issues at the other end.
