ViewFinder available to order!

Posted by Tim Fountain on 00:06, 28/5/2000 | , , , ,

John Kortink's RiscPC graphics card that was shown off at the Wakefield show last weekend is now available to order. The card allows resolutions up to 1600x1200 at 82Hz in true colour resolutions, and up to 1920x1440 at 65Hz in high-colour and 256-colour resolutions. Because these graphics operations are handled in hardware, the result is a much more responsive desktop.

The card currently uses an ATI Rage Pro 3D Turbo chipset (Mach64), but if the card is a success John plans to support the Rage 128 and other AGP cards. The card may also offer some interesting possibilties for games, and R-Comp Interactive have already said that they may be interested in supporting the card in future games conversions.

The card costs Dfl 800 (Dutch Guilders - about £215), and as yet there is no UK distributor. Ordering information and more information on ViewFinder is available at http://web.inter.nl.net/users/J.Kortink/viewfinder.htm.
