It's been a while since I've done any releaseable work on it, so it's now available from http://www.tribbeck.com/software/aced/ - there's a list of new bits on it if you're interested.

Note that I'm kinda getting ready for a final release, and then I'll get back on to Equinox.

I've now copied over the new graphics, and corrected the text a bit (I hadn't realised that some of the additions were in the earlier version :) ).

Wow, those graphics look nice. The graphics in the RISC OS version of the game are much lower quality. (Less colours and lower resolution.) Would it be possible to do a 800x600 or 1024x768 version for RISC OS? I'm sure the Iyonix and A9 could cope with more than the 640x480 graphics.

Probably; the PC version has been targetted at 800x600; 1024x768 should also be possible from a technical standpoint.

Building the two different versions in the same source directory is tricky though (a lot of the resolution is coded at compile-time, rather than run-time for speed)

I may be able to go into 640x480x16 for those graphics (I'm double-screen buffering, but there's no absolute need for it when these are used).

In case anyone's interested, the graphics were done in Lightwave 9 (http://www.newtek.com/lightwave/)

Edited to add: Thanks, btw!

Do you mean 16 colours? :o Or 16bpp or 16 million colours?

16bpp - changing the screen size is a bit more complex than changing the bpp, and only using 1 screen bank will allow me to either change the resolution, or the bpp.

Doing either is actually quite tricky, and to be honest, this isn't meant to be a world class game - so I'll have to see if it's worth it.

And now it's 669 posts...

Is Aced still not suitable for the A9? I read the stuff on the website and ReadMe, but haven't tried running it yet. :worried:

Umm - I've run it on the A9 - but I was given a special video driver at the time; I'm not sure if it's been released yet, so ask Ad6 if it has.
