Stunt Racer 2000 League

Posted by Keith McKillop on 17:00, 23/9/2000 | ,

Simon Challands has recently set up a Stunt Racer 2000 League over the Internet. Players are given a week to race around the circuits and attempt to achieve the best lap time, and points being awarded to the winner and runners-up.

SR2000Anyone can signup to the League from the 'Qualifying' section on the website. Once 'Qualified', you look in the 'Race' section on the website to find out which Track to race on, and download (if required) the driver file. Once you've completed a good lap, you send your Recording back to Simon as proof, and at the end of the week points are awarded for the best lap. The results are then compiled into the SR2000 League Table for all to see. The races aren't always time trials, Race 6 is a 'Show Off' in which you have 3 minutes to show off your skills on a specially designed track. Points are occasionally awarded for 'Daft' manoeuvres, depending on what Simon thinks of them!

So far, about 10 or so players have signed up, although it seems that recently only a few of them are actually taking part. The races are also being held every 2 weeks now, so there is a chance for others to join the League without being left behind. Along with Players' laptimes and current league positions, everyone's past Recordings are also available to watch. Simon is scrutinising the Recording files for use of illegal driver files, or 'faked' laptimes so that no-one has an unfair advantage.

Updated 23/9/00: There have been very few contenders recently, so the league is taking a break until further notice. Race 6 has been left open, so those of you who have not yet attempted it are welcomed (and encouraged!) to do so. Simon will still be accepting new players who sign up to the league, as long as they actually participate in the race.
