Murklesoft have certainly not been idle recently.
In addtition to their updated BBC emulator, they have made a number of improvements to their ZX Spectrum emulator, Z80em too.
Major features include:
- Iyonix compatible
- Resizable multitasking window
- Excellent sound (including speech)
- Multiple file formats (SNA, Z80, TAP, SLT and TZX)
Although Z80em is now Iyonix compatible, 128k sound is only 26bit at the moment. I presume this is being worked on.
Many opcodes have been rewritten and there are now
no games that are known not to work, although I have a found a few with a couple of oddities.
Like 6502em, Z80em is now also tested on Virtual RISC OS machines and it certainly seems stable on mine.
See the
Murklesoft website for further details and ordering information.

Does the joystick emulation refer to a RISC OS joystick emulating the Spectrum one as 6502em manages to with e.g. STD joystick software(no idea how!)? |

Yes, that's right. It uses the Joystick SWI. |
