Back in the early 90s I was involved in the making of an Archimedes game called Oblivion. The guy doing the graphics was a friend of mine. I was doing some of the music and contributing to game concepts/ideas. There's a small mention of it at Acorn Gaming:

Unfortunately, the game was never released and we all sort of lost touch in the years following. Anyway, I was digging through some of my old Archie disks recently and came accross some of the graphics assets that Phil Lund was working on. I've zipped them up using !ZipEE and put the zip in a RAR:

Some of the sprites are animated. You can view the animations by running the relevant BASIC progs. You'll need to change the path$ in the program(s). It's been quite a while since I've last used BBC BASIC and couldn't remember how to point to the current directory (does anyone know how?).

Was Jack Parkinson (I think that was his name) involved in this? If so, I have a 2 level playable version on a hard drive somewhere. Sadly it was never completed beyond that unhappy

Jack was doing the programming IIRC. I didn't know him personally, though. My only link to the game was via Phil.

Any chance you could upload that demo? Would love to see it. I've been trying to get in touch with Phil but not had any luck so far.

I never released it because I only had it by virtue of Jack doing some coding for us. Since I wasn't involved in the project directly, I'd feel a little uncomfy about uploading it, without permission from someone directly involved...

Were you the guy who bought his RISC PC off him when he left the scene? Does anyone have any contact details for him? All I could find was his old Manchester University email address from when he was a student, which is obviously no longer active.

I'm not sure if I bought his RPC. My memory is fuzzy (we're talking 10+ years ago) but he did some porting for us. I think it was Descent 1, but it could have been one of the other games. We were in regular contact at the time, and so he sent me a copy of his unfinished game. At least, I think that's what happened. So long ago... sigh.
