Does anyone have a copy of the patches from this site?

Possibly. I have a variety of mods, patches and hacks on my old HDD (some are SA compatibility, some are RO4 compatibility, and some are just hacks and cheats). I could scour them up and upload them for you, if you're interested. Unfortunately I can't tell which is which right at the moment, apart from the ones in sensibly-named subdirectories.

EDIT: also, if I don't misremember, weren't all of the SA/RO4 patches included in a bundle on one of the AUCDs?

Just trying to collate as much as I can before it drifts into obscurity.

No idea about the AUCDs - I've not touched an Acorn machine for 21 years, so am playing catch up.

I'd suggest that you or anyone else that gets their hands on these patches upload them to something like http://www.filebase.org.uk/software/games/ or even to http://www.frax.co.uk

That way there's at least some way for others to get them later on and there's no need for yet another quick fix archive page.

Ironically it was filebase that sent me to the dead site mentioned above! The RISCOS Filebase Games Patches page seems to be 100% dead links.

Does anyone want to volunteer to scour the web for patches and collate them? We're going to need them for the proposed new format.

We need all game updates and OS/CPU patches, including multiple versions if more than one was released. Avoid commercial (ie paid) ones, we'll have to code replacements from scratch.

At some point I'll need to look at coding a freely available CPU patcher as well, that patches for ARM610, 710, StrongARM etc. That's way down the priority list for me at the minute though.

When I say "we" I don't mean the Royal "we" wink

Ah, I was under the impression that the files are stored on these sites. Since they don't that makes them a lot less useful.

If anyone knows of any good software (preferably PHP/MySQL driven) to run a file base where you can upload the files to I'd be more than willing to set up such a site for archiving purposes.

From memory, the AUCD 10 (the big games one which caused a shed load of problems) had a couple of fixes on them, but not that many.

There was a lot of work done on the R-Comp Krysalis CD to get them running on SA/OS 4 (and boy, that was an epic to get done - gaining the permissions took ages!)
