IIRC this was one of the few games to plot graphics into the "overscan" areas at the edges of the screen, so it probably glitched and half the ball will be on one edge of the screen, and the other on the opposite edge. Or something equally crafty!

You remember correctly and yes it did glitch, the screenshot is native res which is a bizarre resolution and doesn't work on any physical machines I've tried it on. I had to run under emulation to see it! I suspect it needs an A30x0 and a TV to work correctly.

You did well to get it running at all. We never did anything with it in the Krisalis Gold CD, simply because we could never get anywhere with it. Plus, these days MUFC is such a huge brand (esp in our geographic area) we were concerned that it might cause some hoo-hah.

It took half a day to get working, disc 2 is completely protected using a unique 11 sectors/track setup with only 10 of the sectors actually being there. Looks a bit like an Atari ST floppy, going by the file names on it. You can't actually catalogue it on an Arc though, as it doesn't have a root. In the end, I imaged it with the Kryoflux and analysed the tracks to discover the protection method.

Quite fun to watch it play itself...its some game I've never heard of called...er...Football or Soccer (pronounced So-ch-r) depending on how you like your bacon, no idea what M.U. means, probably a brand or something!

...sits back waiting for abuse wink

ps Don't think there's any MU fans here going by the response.

They're the 12th Greek football team.

I've had it running on my physical machine before now - decent game really considering it's release date! The menu runs far too fast on an A3010 though from what I remember.

I'm ever so curious - what about this post required editing a full month later?
