I was thinking about posting a round up of recent programming changes - Castle have a 32 bit C, Awk and Lua have been made 32 bit compatible, and Drobe are reporting DeskLib's update. What else? Is GCC's latest update to make it 32 bit?

Nope, GCC isn't 32 bit yet. Chocky's unix ports are though, or are beginning to be.
