Hi,

Lately I've had rash of people complain that they can't get the stuff at compo.iconbar.com (browsers time out part of the way through a download).

I realise its cheeky to gripe about the QOS given what it cost me. :-)

Has anyone noticed a problem?

Ta,

Rob.

Nope.

I would comment about how this should be in the 'site comments' forum, but it'll probably get noticed sooner if it's in here ;)

[edit]

Doh! It's already in the site comments forum isn't it? :|

I've had a couple of other reports, so although I haven't been able to replicate the problem (110KB/sec might be skipping over the problem ;)) I've spent the evening reading performance tweaking stuff to see if I can't get things running more smoothly.

It might also be a problem with an upgrade I made to the box which went a bit wrong, although I doubt it should affect Apache. Once I get everything properly backed up just in case, I'll fix that and upgrade Apache. Looks like I'll be spending the bank holiday in the office...

Now I feel guilty... :-/

Thanks rich. Hope it rains all day on Monday? ;-)

It's specifically to do with downloading large files; I've heard reports that it stiffs at 160KB for some people. Hopefully I've tweaked the config back into decent shape.
