The RISC OS version isn't available yet (obviously), but I'm sure Nick Burrett and others are working hard to bring it across. The list of new features are very impressive (the decreased memory usage when building C++ progs sounds great). You can check them out here : http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-3.0/features.html I'm certainly looking forward to the RISC OS version. Good luck to those guys working on it. |

Seconded - the new features do look good. While I don't have the expertise to help with the port I hope they manage it - especially as I'm waiting on a machine to be delivered that will finally make using it feasible (if a little slow) |

Can any version of GCC produce modules? No, and as such it's a little short of a development solution for RISC OS. You need the Norcroft compiler for that. |

The latest version of which is freely available (albeit with a 60 day licence) from http://www.riscos.com/download/. Also worth a look is a free replacement for CMHG (the header generator for modules written in C) by Robin Watts and Justin Fletcher at http://www.movspclr.co.uk/software/prog.html |

Has anyone heard how the GCC port (v.2.95) is going? It's been at pre-release 3 for quite a while and my fingers are starting to itch for the release version
