Sounds like a corrupt cache. What browser you using? ________ Cheers, Rich.

Sounds like a corrupt cache. What browser you using? It happens to me at work too. Usually a shift-reload will fix it, but it might take a couple of attempts. I have to use an HTTP proxy and it's possible that it's doing some sort of caching. |

It only happens with the random pearls of wisdom, not with the autotroll.
Weren't some changes made to the header to automagically display festive images? |

Well I've turned the Pearls off in header.inc.php until someone works out whats wrong, so the full page should be fed for now. |

Well, I just upgraded PHP on this machine as there's apparently bugs in the old one; dunno if it'll help...
[edit] Oh, and I finally unmounted the Samba share that got broke when the backup machine lost its network connection - it seems to have been slowing everything down for some reason. ________ Cheers, Rich.

This seems to be happening again occasionally. I get the onepointnought bit, and the word "The", and that's it. No logo, no content etc. And it's only on the homepage. I can't see any pattern to it happening either |

I see it now and again.
Sometimes I see about 10 errors where the news should be saying the news template doesn't exist, sometimes. Sometimes I don't see any page, and an SQL error (I think - must make a note of it next time).
It happens on the home page and the news items. |

Since the last Apache update I'm not seeing this any more. Anyone else?
(This points to an Apache problem, possibly with the mod_cache stuff messing with the logo, so if people still have problems that's the first thing I'll disable) ________ Cheers, Rich.

It looks like mod_cache and gracefully restarting the web server don't mix. A complete stop and start of apache seems to work.
I'll have to remember this when I next add a new domain! ________ Cheers, Rich.

It seemed to come back for no apparent reason, even with the server stripped of cool stuff.
Taking a look in to the code the logo deciding file was being called via a PHP virtual command. I switched this to a require - instead of fetching the file like a web fetch it just folds the file's code in to the main page. Hopefully this will solve it. ________ Cheers, Rich.
