Hi all,
I'm trying to get hold of the required PAK files so I can play ArcQuake. I can't get the from ID's
www site because my browser (fresco) quits each time I go there. Is it a huge sin to ask one of you guys to Email them to <leyland@clear.net.nz>
please????

God Bless, Ben B.

Here are a couple of links to download locations:

ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/quake/quake106.zip

http://archives.3dgamers.com/pub/idgames2/idstuff/quake/quake106.zip

I could email the PAKs to you, except that I've only got a 1 meg attachment limit unhappy

Yeah thanx,
I downloaded quake106.zip, but I am not very computer literate. What files should I be using?
The files are called, deice/exe, install/bat, resource/1, resource/dat, what file type should they be? I copied them to the id1 directory, but each time I try to play it I get 'W_LoadWadFile: couldn't load gfx.wad' What should I do now? Is my version faulty or am I dum?

Please let me know!!!!! Ben B.

nope
what the problem is that IDGames have compressed up all the game data.
If you have access to a PC or PC-Card you can use this to decompress all the data, then you will find the quake PAKs in a folder called "ID".

There is also a program that will now decompress them, although i cannot remember what its called unhappy
