I would imagine that if you're using Windows, you don't have an Acorn emulator to play the game - it's an Acorn game, not a PC game...

Use Red Squirrel to emulate an Acorn machine (you'll need some Risc OS 3.1 roms - don't ask here for them as it's a *bit* naughty...), and there should be a folder called 'hostFS' after unzipping it. Copy your .spk file here. Download a copy of !Spark (it's kicking around somewhere) and open your .spk with that.

Then copy your stuff to an empty .adf and use the Arculator emulator (the only one still being developed freely). Say 'Hello' to Uncle Bob smile

To change it to Basic, press the middle button on it, go to 'File', then 'Set Type', and then type 'basic'.

I'm new to the Acorn emulator scene as well. The problem I find is that Red Squirrel for me will not run Sparkplug. I get the message 'System resources cannot be found'

Unpacking the Marsquake archive with ArcFS works, but this unpacks it incorrectly, and it does not run. Can anyone help with this?

Ah ha! Solved.

Download this file: http://www.nvg.ntnu.no/bbc/mirror/www.acorn.com/ftp/riscos/releases/nspark.tar

Extract it (you may need to get a new unzipper to unpack a .tar file), then put the nspark.exe program in the same folder as mq114.spk

Now open a Dos window, navigate to the folder with both of these files in, and type:

nspark -uT mq114.spk

This will correctly unpack it. Move these folders to your Red Squirrel hard drive (probably 'Hostfs\Disk310')

Then play!

I'm really looking forward to this; we used to play Moonquake all the time at school.
