It's been a while since I've heard any positive word on Iron Dignity, is it going to make it or not? I know Topware went belly up, but surely someone else would publish it. I doubt RiscOS hardware is up to date enough to play anything as graphicly complex, although the a high end PC should have no trouble coping. Did the Beta test actually go ahead or not? It would be a real shame if nothing comes of it. Ben |

Hi, Iron Dignity is currently on hold, but it's definitely not the end of the project! Currently I am not allowed to say more but I can post some very interesting details in, say, a month Sorry for this extremely uninformative message, but that's all I can say for now! |

I would be happy with a cut-down RO version. |

Like in the demo that was released ages ago - it might have been a tad slow, but it still knocks the socks off of any other 3D game for RO |

Anyone seen the latest news on ID? Terrible news for a RISC OS verison appearing I guess! Following the links on csa.games it says it should have been released yesterday in Germany under the name Stealth Combat. Does anyone know if it was? Is this the news you mean, Andrew? It certainly looks very nice, and as such I guess would be too much for current RISC OS hardware to cope with but is there any hope of a cut down version? I'd pay for something which would run on my SA RPC. |

Problem is if the game is owned by a company there is no way that they'll finance a RISC OS version I'd think. |

Problem is if the game is owned by a company there is no way that they'll finance a RISC OS version I'd think. I guess it depends on whether the company in question have a licence to release the game just on the PC or on all formats. If Artex (or whoever) still own the game for other formats they could release a version for RISC OS. I'm not saying they'd want to but they could. Of course I know nothing about computer game contracts so feel free to correct me... |

Speaking of RO versions, is there any way to get hold of the demo version again? I missed it before and it's not on their website now, and I haven't the slightest idea what the thing's actaully like, old demo or not. Anyway, if anyone has a copy of the demo they'd like to email to me, I'd be more than happy to play it 99043424@napier.ac.uk Well it's worth a try, cheers anyway, ~ Jason |

Let's see... it's about 5meg in size so that rules out me emailing it... I think it was on AU CD 6 though (The Evolution one). And it's a non-interactive demo, not a playable one |

I have to say Stealth Combat rocks (once you get used to the controls and German voices welcoming you to Britain at one point ). Even a cut down version on RISC OS would be great. |

So, how about it then - a cut down version for RISC OS? Better wait and see how TEK does first I suppose! |

Stealth Combat looks absolutely wubbly, despite the slight language barrier unfortunately when I load the proper missions, I drive my buggy across the bridge, and within 15 seconds, the sound goes all haywire, then the machine pretty much locks up, giving me 1 frame per min - and even good 'ole Ctrl+alt+del doesnt work /me reaches for the reset switch... |

The ID demo is available from this server - http://www.acornarcade.com/downloads/id.zip Hmmm I tried that link, I got about half of it downloaded and then it told me that "an unknown error is preventing the download of this file". Is this an error at acornarcade's end or is it my university's crap firewall playing around again? ~ Jason |

The file seems fine, although my desktop machines are only a matter of inches away from the server Usually download errors of this type are to do with caching problems - flush the cache, reset the machine if possible, and then try again. ________ Cheers, Rich.

Hi, Stealth Combat is not really Iron Dignity, although some elements may match and the engine is the same. And yes, it has been developed by the team that was developing Iron Dignity at Artex - but not entirely; some new faces helped producing SC. Oh, and an English version will probably be available in May. |

at least we know ID can run on StrongARM machines in a slighlty reduced form. Whether it's developed or not depends on TEK. |

I think Stealth Combat will require quite a powerful machine, i was getting a little slow down on my PC (700mhz, Kyro2) so it probably requires something a little more powerful. |
