Could you make it so that blocked user's posts are hidden altogether? Maybe there could be a list in the profile, of blocked users, where they could be unblocked.

Why? At least you can currently see if you are missing out on something.

If the posts you're blocking are all single line comments you're not interested in, replacing them with another single line post saying that the user's been blocked doesn't really make any difference.

I would also like the ability to completely hide blocked users. Currently, every time the someone I have blocked makes a comment, I have to fight with the temptation to click on the "reply and quote" to see if this time they've said something interesting/useful that doesn't infuriate me.

I'd rather just not have to think about blocked users at all.

I'm aware there's a trade-off there, and that some threads might get a little confusing for me with people replying to stuff I've no knowledge of, but that is a sacrifice I would be willing to make.

I'll have a look sometime tonight and see if I can hide posts by blocked users completely.

I've done it!

I would reply to your post personally, but I blocked you by way of testing it tongue

At the moment there isn't an option to turn this off for people who want to see that a blocked person has posted. This will probably be added tomorrow, as there are some rather confusing bits in the forum code about where I should be storing such an option tongue

Also I can't seem to find a page to unblock richcheng, so I guess I'd better find/write it and add it to the control panel.

[edit]

You can still see the names of the blocked people in the threaded list - do you want them removing too?

This page now will list the people you've blocked and allow you to unblock them. There's also a link to it at the top of your control panel.

I have no problem with this. It's only when they're in the flow of discussion that they're a problem, for me.

Thanks! (If you can see this.)

Now done!

And because I'm feeling extra-nice, I've turned it on manually for tlsa and richcheng.
